A draft document has revealed that US tech firms, including Google, Amazon, and Microsoft, will have to partner with a European Union-based company to obtain an EU cybersecurity label, granting them permission to process sensitive data. The scheme proposed by the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity would require these American firms to hold only a minority stake in joint ventures and ensure that any staff which can access EU data undergoes EU-level screenings and is based in one of the 27 EU countries.
